Device Overview
JU-06A Sound Module
The Roland JU-06A is a compact synthesizer that combines the sonic character of two legendary Roland synthesizers: the JUNO-60 and JUNO-106. Using ACB (Analog Circuit Behavior) technology, it recreates the warm, fat sound of these classic analog synthesizers in a highly portable form factor.
Key Features
- Authentic recreation of both JUNO-60 and JUNO-106 sounds with a switch to select between them
- Classic single DCO (Digitally Controlled Oscillator) architecture
- Legendary 24dB/oct low-pass filter with signature Juno character
- Built-in arpeggiator (from the JUNO-60)
- 16-step sequencer
- Chord memory function
- Dual/split mode for layering sounds or splitting the keyboard
- Built-in delay and chorus effects
- Two headphone outputs for sharing
Synthesis Architecture
Oscillator Section
- Single DCO with sawtooth and pulse/square waveforms
- Sub oscillator octave below the main oscillator
- Noise generator with variable level
- PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) with LFO, manual, or envelope control
Filter Section
- High-pass filter (HPF) for removing low frequencies
- 24dB/octave low-pass filter with resonance
- Key follow control for keyboard tracking
- Envelope and LFO modulation
Envelope Section
- 4-stage ADSR (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release) envelope for amplitude and filter modulation
LFO Section
- Triangle, square, random, and other waveform options
- Rate and delay time controls for vibrato and other modulation effects

Modes
JUNO-60 Mode
Captures the distinctive sound of the JUNO-60 (produced 1982-1984), which had a brighter, more aggressive character and included an arpeggiator.
JUNO-106 Mode
Recreates the slightly warmer sound of the JUNO-106 (produced 1984-1988), which became one of Roland’s most popular synthesizers due to its rich sound and user-friendly interface.
